Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster Welcomes Health Care Executive Ryan Albrecht as CEO

Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster is pleased to announce the appointment of senior health care executive Ryan Albrecht as the practice’s next chief executive officer. He will begin his role on March 2.

Albrect will assume the role at Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster upon the retirement of Bill Weik, current CEO of Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster, who has served as CEO since 2004.

Albrecht joins Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster with a strong record of strengthening physician-led organizations, improving operational performance and expanding access to coordinated, patient-centered care. Across his career, he has focused on delivering health care that is accessible, well-integrated and supportive across the full patient journey, and these priorities closely reflect Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster’s longstanding mission. As he transitions into this role, Albrecht is committed to supporting continuity, stability and thoughtful growth for the practice while further enhancing its seamless care model.

Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Albrecht and his family look forward to becoming active members of the Lancaster community. His leadership approach emphasizes collaboration, transparency, visibility, accountability and respect. Using these principles will guide his work internally while supporting a unified culture centered on operational excellence, continuous improvement and high-quality, patient-focused care.

Albrecht’s professional background includes extensive leadership roles within both health systems and private practice environments. Prior to joining Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster, he served as:

  • Clinic manager for Alegent Health – Creighton University, overseeing nonclinical clinic operations, administrative functions and residency rotation coordination.
  • Healthcare development consultant for Mutual of Omaha, contributing to enterprise strategy work and streamlining underwriting processes to significantly reduce turnaround times.
  • Senior lean operations specialist at Nebraska Methodist Health System, implementing systemwide improvement initiatives, coaching 30-plus visual management boards and supporting workflow optimization for new OR construction.
  • Senior director of operations at Nebraska Methodist Health System, leading operational improvement initiatives and overseeing outpatient rehabilitation, pain management and orthopedic service lines.
  • COO of MD West ONE, where he supported market expansion, developed new clinic locations and integrated multiple physician groups.
  • COO of Real Radiology, guiding strategic physician recruitment and expanding operations into over 30 states and three countries.
  • CEO of Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute, where he advanced care delivery, physician alignment and clinic integration across Colorado and Wyoming.

Through these roles, Albrecht has built a reputation for supporting doctors, fostering high-performing teams and strengthening patient access. He brings this experience to the team as Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster continues to grow and serve the region.
