Athletic Training
Athletes are always pushing themselves to achieve new heights of performance and endurance. Today's athletes have an elevated risk of injury due to the physical demands put on their bodies. At some time, whether by accident, competitive injury or as the result of a demanding training regimen, almost every athlete – amateur or professional – will need medical assistance from a trained professional. When they do, OAL’s athletic trainers are there.
Trained for Performance
Athletic Trainers keep athletes performing at their physical best. This means working to help prevent injuries through therapeutic exercise, preventative taping, nutrition and by employing physical therapy modalities that help overcome specific weaknesses or improve balance and coordination deficiencies. Athletic trainers, however, are more widely known for their work after an injury has occurred. Providing first aid in emergency situations, athletic trainers quickly assess the damage and begin the process of treatment.
The Best in their Field on the Field
Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster’s athletic trainers bring a superior level of experience and education to the sports medicine profession. In addition to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited athletic training program many of our athletic trainers have gone on to achieve advanced degrees. All are board certified and licensed by the state board of medicine in Pennsylvania.
OAL athletic trainers are also backed by the area’s most comprehensive orthopedic practice. Because they are part of Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster, they can provide immediate on-the-field access to physicians. When necessary, OAL’s athletic trainers can make an on-the-spot referral to OAL's Orthopedic Urgent Care or the necessary orthopedic surgeon: everything necessary to minimize damage and facilitate healing.

- I knew I dislocated my finger when it was sticking out at a 45° angle from my hand. I thought I got it back into place, but was very grateful to have OAL‘s urgent care facility to go to to confirm. X-rays confirmed that it was still out of place and that there was also a fracture. I was then scheduled for an appointment with the hand specialist Dr. Griska five days later. I love having the option of an urgent care with orthopedic staff. Thank you OAL!
- Dr Stabile and her team were magical! I am pain free, and extremely happy I am in her care.
- I had my left shoulder worked on and the surgery was very successful. I do not have any limitations or pain now. I would use this group again for any orthopedic issue I may have in the future, because they CARE about your success.
- Every time I’ve used of Orthopedic Associates I’ve been very pleased with the service I receive. From the receptionist, nurses, doctors and therapists, everything is professional and very sympathetic to the discomfort that you happen to be in so I gave them five stars!
