Our interventional pain management physician provides the expertise and use of our advanced technological capabilities to diagnose your condition and develop a customized treatment plan.

Determining the Cause of Your Pain

After discussing your medical history and conducting a physical exam, our interventional pain physician may recommend diagnostic tests to locate the cause of your pain, including:

• Electromyography (EMG) – tests how nerves and muscles talk to each other and to find reason for pain, numbness, and weakness
• Nerve conduction studies – tests function of nerves
• Imaging techniques including X-rays, MRI, or computed tomography (CT) scan
• Blood work

A Treatment Plan Designed Specifically for You

Upon diagnosis, our pain management physician will work closely with the OAL treatment team to help you manage your pain and restore function. Our goal is to help you resume an active lifestyle as quickly and safely as possible.

Treatment may include:

• Therapeutic injections to help relieve pain so you can make progress with other components of your personalized treatment plan
• Appropriate medication
• Physical therapy to teach you proper body mechanics and specific exercises that promote strength and flexibility of the muscles and soft tissues that support your back and spine.
